WVC Foundation presents The Piatigorsky Foundation Concert April 16

The public is invited to The Piatigorsky Foundation Concert, presented by the Wenatchee Valley College Foundation, on Tuesday, April 16, at 6 p.m. in The Grove Recital Hall, WVC Music and Art Center, on the Wenatchee campus. This event is generously sponsored by Wilfred and Kathy Woods.

This concert will feature cellist Evan Drachman, grandson of Gregor Piatigorsky, and pianist Lisa Bergman. Drachman has combined artistic talent with personal compassion and warmth to create a distinctive musical career. He is increasingly sought after for his solo and chamber music performances. As founder and artistic director of The Piatigorsky Foundation, he has become one of the most respected authorities on the presentation of live classical music for diverse audiences.

Bergman is the classical music program advisor of the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts in Leavenworth, as well as founder and artistic director of the Mostly Nordic Chamber Music Series presented at the Nordic Heritage Museum in Seattle. She is also the executive director of NOISE (Northwest Opera in Schools, Etcetera).

The audience will also have the opportunity to meet the artists after the concert.

The Piatigorsky Foundation was established by Drachman in 1990 in honor of his grandfather, Gregor Piatigorsky, the late Russian cellist, who believed in the healing power and inspiration of classical music. The Foundation is committed to carrying on Piatigorsky's mission by evoking cultural curiosity through educational and accessible live performances.
